   What is a Bridgeboard?

A Bridgeboard is an Amiga specific card with a 8088 or X86 series CPU that allows
running PC software as well as sharing of the resources of the Amiga (monitor, disks,
keyboard and mouse, etc...) with the PC.

The Bridgeboards are not very fast by today's PC standards, but some can still be upgraded
to faster processors. They are also much faster than software-only 680x0 based emulators, but
with the advent of PowerPC processors and emulators based around these processors, this hardware
solution may become a dying breed.

They do still provide a good performance for those who can't afford PowerPC upgrades, but need
PC compatibility at a good speed, without having to buy a complete PC system.
